Subscriptions
The Attic Partner Portal offers various ways to activate Attic services for your end customers. This article covers the different screens that appear in the onboarding flow.
It starts with the menu item Subscriptions (direct link):
Click + New to add a subscription (direct link)
In the next screen, you can select the type of solution to add. More options will appear over time, but for now, we choose product group Attic for Microsoft 365 and then M365 Premium.
After confirmation the new solution will be created and you can start onboarding it into your clients environment, which for Microsoft365 solutions starts with choosing the type of access.
Access Type
Start by choosing an Access Type. The options are:
- Via GDAP (requires Microsoft CSP relationship with the end customer)
-
Via App (requires authorization by a global admin in the customer tenant)
- Full Access – allows use of one-click fixes
- Read-Only – requires you to perform fixes manually
App-Based Onboarding
The final screen presents several options to initiate authorization in the customer tenant. In all cases, the displayed URL is the location where authorization occurs.
- Start Onboarding – use this button if you have a global admin account in the tenant you want to onboard
- Forward by Email – opens a popup to forward the URL to someone else with the necessary rights, including a note field to add a custom message
- Copy – copies the URL to your clipboard so you can share it using your preferred channel (e.g., Teams)
Full Access Permissions:
Read-Only Permissions:
This onboarding process has two steps, due to an additional step required to fully read Exchange Online settings.
GDAP Onboarding
If you are a Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP), you manage admin relationships with your customers’ Microsoft 365 tenants from the Microsoft Partner Center. Attic connects to your Partner Center and recognizes which customer tenants you already have relationships with. On those tenants, you can activate Attic without any additional authorization: Attic will operate using the permissions you already have as a partner.
In the Attic Partner Portal, you can also generate a new invitation to establish a CSP relationship with a new customer.
The URL in the final screen must be forwarded to the end customer, where someone with global admin rights can approve the CSP relationship. After this, Attic will be able to validate the relationship and complete onboarding.
